INTELLECTUAL FRAUD?
Knowledge was served to you on a platter of gold, yet you chose ignorance. I refer to those who have possibly been born with silver spoons almost shoved down their throats yet fail to acknowledge it. Perhaps the plates and spoons were so shiny that you opted for the less glittery option, “wood”!
I grew up in an age where I heard catchphrases like “school na scam”, “first-class graduate, yet no work?” and so many other phrases that discouraged me from school / education… or not.
You see, these are phrases that may either make or mar your quest to be educated. Some of those who coined such phrases are perhaps who I would most likely refer to as educated illiterates. My apologies to those who might fall under this category.
DISCLAIMER: My page is solely to encourage young people to thrive to be the best version of themselves (as the main meal) with a bit of comedy served as dessert😋. Pardon me if what you read doesn’t totally align with your life’s philosophy.
Time to answer a few conventional questions about school
- Did school ever get overwhelming? Most definitely! It never got easy, the presha is getting wesser 😥😥(the pressure is getting worse).
- Are there graduates still unemployed? Yes, there are, and the statistics thereof haven’t been positive over the years.
Let’s skip the boring facts
I strongly believe that education/ school isn’t just to make you successful. It sharpens your brain, helps you to face a lot of challenges that life may throw at you.
Let’s take assignment deadlines as a case in point.
- Lecturer Crayfish decides that after a very boring and non-comprehensive lecture, it’s only deemed fit that he dishes a hot plate of (not amala and gbegiri this time😭😭) assignments to his heavy-eyed students. He casually strides over to the course rep, taps him with his walking stick and says “anyone that doesn’t send their assignments to your email tonight should forget about it. Forward all the emails to my email address, compiled as one”.
I mean, this is nothing but a mad joke!!😒🙄😭 Is this playing?? But yeah, amidst the cries and pleas for mercy, everyone…or not gets to submit before the deadline. Na situations make crayfish bend. 😫😫
Fast forward to the future when you are a working-class lady or gentleman. You have a job to deliver to your client at a particular time. Your mind is automatically programmed to meet the stipulated time, and voila! The job is done. You pat yourself on the back and say “well-done”. Do you think it’s magic? You have been trained from the onset!
