FULL MOON

Thousands of years ago, our forefathers lived a life that to them, was enough.
The stars shone bright at night, beautiful to watch. There was a sense of community, harmony, and family spirit. In the ideal sense, that was “fulfillment”.
At night, the moon would reflect light from the sun. Somedays, it’d be a crescent, on other days a quarter but the rare occasions that got the natives really excited were days when the moon was FULL.
Those were the nights of tales by moonlight. Everyone would get thrilled. Those were days to look forward to. The days to dance in the moonlight’s stead. The days when joy was fully shared. Those were the days that people saw clearly, even in the darkest of nights.
Dear reader, you’re probably wondering, what’s the point of this analogy? Well, You are the moon! The communities represent the world around you. The darkness represents the storms and issues of life. The sun, whose light you reflect represents God, our Father in Heaven.
The twist to this is, the darker the night is, the easier it is to reflect the light from the sun(God).
However, many of us are comfortable with shining dimly (like the crescent or quarter moon), or not shining at all, in this dark world.
I can sense the confusion on your face at this point. You’re wondering, “How do I shine this light? What’s all this talk about the moon, sun and darkness?”
As Christians, it’s important that we find ourselves deeply connected in our walk with God. The deeper we grow in our relationship with Him, the easier it is to reflect His light.
”And all of us, as with unveiled face, [because we] continued to behold [in the Word of God] as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are constantly being transfigured into His very own image in ever increasing splendor and from one degree of glory to another; [for this comes] from the Lord [Who is] the Spirit.“
2 Corinthians 3:18 AMPC
In the above verse, we see that the way to be transformed and to reflect the light of God is to behold God, through His word.
The word of God is the Holy Bible. Right now, take a minute to kindly answer this question, “When was the last time I studied my Bible?”
If you haven’t been studying, don’t judge yourself. However, It’s time to start on that path.
The only way to understand the light that you carry is to connect with the source of that light, who is God Almighty.
We must realise that many people suffer a lot of trials, just because of ignorance. You are not aware that once you are a true follower of Jesus, your identity is that of authority. The same goes with the light. Once you are unaware that you have the capacity to shine, you live life with levity.
”My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge; because you [the priestly nation] have rejected knowledge, I will also reject you that you shall be no priest to Me; seeing you have forgotten the law of your God, I will also forget your children.“
Hosea 4:6 AMPC
It is time to shine the light you have been given. Children, Youths, and. Adults. It is time to let go of living a mediocre life. We are Christians and we ought to shine!
Many of us are running away from responsibility, fleeing leadership positions, because we don’t want to get our hands “dirty”. For the sake of the light you carry, lead for God’s sake!
I would end this epistle to you here, but believe me, there’s more to this.
It’s time to be furious at the darkness of this world and do what God has called you to! Be the FULL moon. Unlock your potential that God has creatively knit into you.
It’s time to shine your light! But firstly, grow in God’s word. Let there be a hunger burning inside you, to know the purpose to which God has called you. It is in walking in that purpose that you become a FULL moon, and you shine brighter.
I am also on this journey too but I believe so much in the younger generation, that through you, many people will know about God, the gospel and the light which you carry. You are not too young nor too old to shine.
Selah.
